The project entailed increasing the capacity of the existing Mortuary from a 48 to 108 body stores whilst also replacing three Autopsy Tables. The project was spilt into two Phases.
Phase1: Refurbish the existing plant room adjacent to the mortuary to facilitate 28 body cabinets. Provision for all new electrical and mechanical services was made in conjunction with all new finishes, fixtures and fittings. The body cabinets were installed and commissioned prior to commencing Phase 2.
Phase 2: To refurbish and enlarge the existing area involved the demolition of partitions, modifications of services, enlargement of the Post Mortem Room and refurbishment of all new finishes, fixtures and fittings. The three autopsy tables were installed under this
The successful completion of this project was facilitated by Logan’s ability to manage the phased alterations in a safe and practical manor maintaining the Trusts ability to utilize the Mortuary. Robust and functional hoardings were established to segregate working areas from occupied areas, mitigating any dust or debris into occupied areas.
