The project comprised of the general refurbishment of 6 Wards (Vernon, Allingham, Gray & Outpatients Dept., Florence Nighting Gale, Cheselden and Keate) under a Phased Contract Program of Works. The works primarily comprised of the general upgrading of fixtures and fittings, flooring and decorations throughout the entire ward areas. Each individual Ward required specific alterations pursuant to the end users requirements to decommission bed spaces to form new walk-in showers, toilets or single bedrooms with ensuites. The Gray Ward and Out Patients Dept.works comprised primarily of the reconfiguration of the Gray Ward to accommodate a new Outpatient Clinic. The construction work, within the 4th Floor of St James Wing comprised of temporary works; decommissioning/stripping out work; demolition, construction of partitions; mechanical, electrical and drainage installations including energizing, commissioning and testing; installation of fixtures, fittings and finishes including floor coverings and decorations..
The successful completion of this project was facilitated by Logan’s understanding and knowledge of the importance to coordinate and manage timely procurement of the various packages to drive the project forward, meeting the Clients expectations.
Health & Safety along with infection control were fundamental in ensuring the surrounding Wards were kept operation whilst undertaking the refurbishment works. A robust and thorough CDM Plan was established and maintained throughout the Project
