The project entailed phased reconfiguration and refurbishment of the 1st Floor South, 2nd Floor and 3rd Floor North of the John Vane Science Centre to form new laboratories. The work comprised of the removal of all existing fixtures and fittings, furniture and finishes, demolition of internal partition, removal of existing services and the provision of new internal partitions, doors and new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, new laboratory furniture and fittings to all areas.
The main mechanical services installations comprised of the provision of ventilation, cooling, heating, fume extract, medical gases, hot and cold water, drainage and cold room installation. The electrical services installations comprised of the provision of general power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, telephone and data, access controls and electrical services to the mechanical installations.
The successful completion of this project was facilitated by Logan’s understanding and knowledge of the importance to coordinate and manage timely procurement of the various packages to drive the project forward, meeting the Clients expectations.
Health & Safety along with infection control were fundamental in ensuring the surrounding Wards were kept operation whilst undertaking the refurbishment works. A robust and thorough CDM Plan was established and maintained throughout the Project.
