Project Name: Compass School, Southwark
Location: Drummond Rd, London SE16 2BT
Principal Consultants: Innes Associates, TDC
Project Duration: 16 weeks
Compass School Southwark is a mixed 11-16 year old secondary school, who aims to be one of the best schools in the country, renowned for delivering outstanding academic results, developing world-class opportunities for our students and staff, and ensure a global outlook and high aspiration in every student, regardless of their background.
Quality through design:
The aim of the project is to bring the Compass School’s currently out of date and redundant 1960’s building up to building regulations and fit for use, offering an excellent state-of-the-art modern teaching facility.
Scope of works:
Works include the remodelling and refurbishment of the three storey Block G and the link access to Block F. We will be converting the current reception office into a dining area and changing the status of Block G to become the main school entrance, along with mixed use classrooms, reception and WC facilities. There will also be some external works.
Working in partnership:
All refurbishment works are being undertaken within a fully functioning school and the building is adjacent to occupied teaching facilities, therefore liaison with the school to avoid any disruption, is essential.
At the heart of a good school is an environment which allows for the development of confident, independent learners with an enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge... Our refurbished facilities allow for inspirational teaching across the full curriculum.
