Project Name: Lavington Street
Principal Consultants: KCL, Mace
Project Duration: 24 weeks
We recently completed the refurbishment of 23,500 sqft of office space for Kings College London. The 3rd and 4th Floors of 5-11 Lavington Street SE1, have been renewed for the first time since the building was constructed.
We undertook a soft refurbishment that included painting, decorating, replacing floors and renewing kitchen space as well as small builders work including installing new shower areas.
We undertook surveys at the start of the project that highlighted some issues with some of the services and facilities. We offered to remediate these for the client and extended our scope of works and programme to accommodate these changes.
Works had to be undertaken considerately as the floors above and below were occupied throughout. This included utilising a dedicated access route into the site via a small passenger lift.
We liaised closely with King’s College London’s ICT and AV contractors throughout to ensure that the supply we installed was suitable and ready for connections in the latter half of the programme.
King’s College London will utilise this office space for their IT, Estates and Projects staff and the result is a bright, functional environment to work in.
The project was completed in 6 months, with King’s College London’s staff moving in at the start of June.
