This complex project consisted of the conversion of an existing partially listed warehouse building into nine luxury apartments for a private developer within London, taking into consideration energy efficient features for the client.
Two initial challenges faced the Logan team. Firstly the formation of a lift shaft through the building and secondly liaising with Network Rail to undertake works to the side elevation of the building. Adjacent to the rail trackside and with just a 2m gap this necessitated track closures.
Works included removing an external iron fire escape at night.
Sustainable build technology was employed to ensure that the external envelope and individual apartments were thermally efficient. Energy efficient Lutron lighting and Nibe heat recovery systems were utilised, together with new windows to match the original design.
The completed project comprised of ground floor offices, two bed flats over three floors and a duplex apartment on the fourth floor.
A Victorian office building sympathetically converted to modern energy efficient luxury apartments whilst retaining the original fabric.
