Bewick Bridge : Safer Schools and Surveyor Rules
September 16, 2019
Logan Construction were delighted to be invited by pupils of Bewick Bridge Primary School to talk about the dangers of construction sites and the works we are doing at their school. The children were given a site safety presentation by our senior surveyor, site manager and trainee surveyor. To follow on from this the children had building play in the afternoon.
The school are also excited that their Year 2 pupils will be taking part in the Big Build 2019 Scheme organised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme. They will be spending time between now and November designing, building and decorating a structure of their choice out of recyclable materials.
Logan’s Senior Surveyor Jim Harris said “We think it is essential to engage with pupils on all schools we are working on – building sites can look like exciting places but they need to be aware of the dangers that are there. We enjoyed the morning immensely and were delighted to meet the pupils. We are now looking forward to seeing their Big Build construction”.
Logan Construction are currently working on site at Bewick Bridge Primary School. The project comprises the full refurbishment of a one storey nursery and infant school building as well as the main reception, office space, school kitchen and main hall.
This £2.4m Design & Build project will be completed in three phases and completion is due Spring 2020.
