Chelsea & Westminster NHS Project Starts on Site

February 2024

We are delighted to have started works on site this week following our engagement by Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust in an exciting 2 phase project.

The first phase covers the creation of a new Administration and adjacent Therapies area at Lower ground floor level which, when completed, will allow the existing Ground Floor Therapies area to be decanted.  The second phase of the contract, then comprises the creation of two new theatre suites complete along with ancillary areas, and a new Treatment Centre area, with facilities to enhance the existing healthcare provision.

The first phase will involve the strip out and demolition of the existing internal arrangement complete, and then a new layout to provide the required Admin and Therapies facilities. As a part of this, the MEP installation will be replaced and upgraded as a whole, providing a more energy efficient space to align with the Trusts carbon net zero.

The new treatment centre will be equipped with the latest medical technologies and will provide a comfortable and safe environment for patients and staff. Whilst undertaking the works in creating the two new operating theatre areas, one of the key challenges will be that there will be five adjacent live theatres that need to be fully maintained and operational at all times, so careful planning, particularly around the existing services installations, will be critical.

The whole of the project will of course be carried out within a live hospital environment that operates on a 24/7 basis, along with all the regular demands that this brings, and which Logan regularly deal with on a day-to-day basis across our diverse healthcare portfolio . As ever, safety of patients, staff, and the public is paramount and strict measures will be put in place to ensure that disruptions are kept to a minimum.

We will be on site until the end of 2025.
