Green Skills Innovation Centre

June 2025

We are thrilled with the completion of the refurbishment project at the Westminster Adult Education Centre, located at Lisson Grove Centre.  This significant enhancement aims to provide adult learners with a modern and engaging educational environment.

Situated in a thriving residential area, the centre has been meticulously updated to meet the evolving needs of the adult students. The refurbishment of the second floor involved two key phases:

Phase 1: Enabling Works and Strip-Out

In this initial phase, we focused on preparing the space by removing unnecessary internal partitions, floor tiles and ceiling tiles to facilitate seamless adaptations. Electrical components, including outdated sockets and floor boxes, were also stripped out and prepared for the new design.

Phase 2: Proposed Refurbishment Works

During the second phase, our team transformed the space with the installation of new partitions, modern floor coverings, an aesthetic refresh through decorations and updated mechanical and electrical works.

As a result, the newly revamped second floor now features five state-of-the-art teaching rooms, a comfortable staff room, a dedicated NVHR room and a practical storage room. The existing kitchen area has also received a contemporary makeover.

New Teaching Spaces

Here’s a glimpse of our innovative teaching spaces that are designed to enhance learning experiences:

  1. Practical Lab Room – designed for hands-on learning experiences.
  2. Computer Room – equipped with 20 workstations for digital learning.
  3. Immersive Classroom – features tools for visualising and projecting images relevant to specific subjects.
  4. Classroom with VAR System – integrated technology to facilitate diverse learning styles and activities.
  5. Flexible Teaching Room – includes sliding partitions to allow for customisable teaching environments, enabling either individual rooms or an open plan.

Each classroom is fitted with seven interactive screens to support dynamic teaching and engage students in an interactive manner.

Client Satisfaction

The refurbishment has significantly improved the learning environment at the Westminster Adult Education Centre. Feedback from the client has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting their satisfaction with the modernisation and functionality of the new teaching spaces.

Conclusion

The successful refurbishment of the second floor of Westminster Adult Education Centre demonstrates a commitment to enhancing adult education through improved facilities. The project not only transformed the physical space but will also enrich the learning experience for both students and educators, aligning with the centre’s mission to provide high-quality education in the community.
