Expansion and Improvement of Urology Facilities at Milton Keynes Hospital

August 2024

The new facility, completed in May 2024, has paved the way for the expansion and enhancement of Milton Keynes Hospital Urology Facilities.

The new facility, completed in May 2024, has paved the way for the expansion and enhancement of Milton Keynes Hospital  Urology facilities.

These renovations have allowed the Trust to consolidate existing Urology services from various locations across the hospital site, providing a more cohesive and comprehensive experience for their patients. We are thrilled to see the positive impact this will have on the hospital’s ability to serve their community.

The principal elements of the project included:

  • Carrying out local demolitions and strip-out work, which involved carefully and selectively removing specific parts of the existing structure to prepare for the upcoming changes.
  • Supplying and installing new stud partitions, including some with local lead lining, to create designated and specific areas within the unit.
  • Installing new door sets to provide efficient access to different areas within the unit and enhance privacy and security.
  • Supplying, installing and connecting new sanitaryware, such as sinks, toilets and other bathroom fixtures, to upgrade and optimise the facilities within the unit.
  • Installing new cubicle systems to create individual and private spaces for patients and staff.
  • Renovating reception counters, storage units and similar items to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the unit.
  • Adapting MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) services distribution and replacing MEP fittings to ensure that the unit’s infrastructure adequately supported the intended functions and layout.
  • Supplying and installing new ventilation plant units to provide a comfortable and controlled climate within the procedure rooms.
  • Conducting general redecoration and replacing floor finishes throughout with local wall protection to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The project was not without its challenges, but the team’s collective attention to detail and hard work paid off, resulting in high-quality work that fully satisfied the client. A big commendation to the entire team for their exceptional efforts!
