Forest Research Project – Exciting Developments Underway!

March 2026

We are delighted to announce the commencement of our latest project for a new client at Forest Research, Great Britain’s principal organisation for forestry and tree-related research, where we have begun upgrade works to the corridor link and canteen entrance.

This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and functionality for all visitors and staff.

Project Timeline:

Start Date:  February 2026

Expected Completion:  End of May 2026

The scope of this Design & Build project includes the removal and replacement of the existing cladding wall in the link corridor, making way for new structural improvements. This upgrade will feature a small extension to the building, providing additional space and modernised aesthetics.

Internally, several enhancements will be made to support these changes:

  • Alterations to stair and ramp handrails
  • Installation of new stud partitions in various areas
  • Improvements to existing rooflights
  • Modifications to a ground-floor lab room to create a new corridor and external door
  • Restructuring of the lift lobby area, including the removal of certain walls

Our work encompasses a broad range of upgrades, including essential mechanical, electrical, structural and landscaping tasks to finalise the new layouts.  Specific activities will involve:

  • Laying new foundations for the extended lobby
  • Installing or relocating heating and lighting systems
  • Implementing access control measures
  • Removing condensers from areas adjacent to the new ground-floor lab access door

Stay tuned for further updates as we progress through the construction process!
