About This Education Project

We successfully completed a complex project involving new construction, refurbishment and external works within a Secondary School that was fully occupied despite the challenging market conditions of Brexit and COVID-19.

Our collaboration with the design and supply-chain teams helped us to achieve the best value for the School during the PCSA period despite the volatile market conditions. Our robust cost control, design quality benchmarking and collaborative approach to programme management enabled us to complete the project.

Our works included the construction of a new four-court sports hall, a bespoke fitness suite, changing rooms, staff facilities and reception, as well as refurbishing the existing sports hall to create a new activity space.

We also constructed a new two-storey arts block, which provides two new classrooms, as well as an art studio and graphics suite respectively and a new car park to accommodate increased capacity for the new facilities.

We had to consider various factors while working in this occupied School, such as proven COVID-19 infection controls, mitigations for noise, dust and vibration, safe access to the existing sports hall for use of the changing rooms and ensuring that noisy works in the construction of the new art block would not disrupt lessons within the adjacent science buildings.

We also coordinated deliveries and collections well in advance with the School and utilised a designated access/egress route due to the dense residential area that the School is situated in.

Our works have revitalised the School’s arts and physical education offerings and we are proud of the successful completion of this project.
