Provision of a new children’s day-care nursery together with site development and external works. The project was within a new build mixed use residential development.
The project comprised a nursery building of approximately 507m2 gross floor area to accommodate and provide day-care facilities for around 100 children.
Site preparation initially required the diversion of a buried main electricity supply cable.
The building was timber framed construction on a concrete slab foundation with a canopy to the front of the building and external roof terrace.
Internally, the nursery comprises four activity rooms, a sensory room, kitchen, office, staff room together with toilets, plant room and stores.
Externally, the gardens and roof terrace were designed to provide additional safe play areas during summer periods.
The purpose built sensory room includes specialist equipment such as a laser projector, laser sky, bubble tubes, mirror balls and a talking cube.
