Works included delivering building fabric repair, decoration and external improvements at the Camberwell College of Arts. The building is of Victorian heritage and as part of our works we carried out stonework and window repairs. Other elements of the project included small finishing, groundworks and installation of a DDA ramp to the rear of the building.
KING’S CROSS & BRYAN SHAW BUILDINGS
Complex refurbishment of multiple rooms across several floors within two separate buildings at the central Saint Martin’s College.
Our target was to provide the University with robust new office and teaching space, through the complex refurbishment of existing and outdated areas. Delivered across two separate buildings, within the Central Saint Martin’s College, we worked on numerous floors concurrently to ensure the challenging programme duration was achieved.
Various internal demolitions, alterations and installations of non-load bearing stud walls was undertaken in order to form enlarged office and learning spaces. Of particular note was the core drilling elements, which involved safely piercing through the 600mm thick concrete roof slab in order to install new services. Moreover, we installed new fire rated (FD-30) fire doors, walls and associated service alterations to provide the University with benchmark fire safety standards.
Tasked with a challenging nine week timeframe, we successfully delivered a bespoke, flexible and high-specification new facility for the University students and staff to enjoy. We handed the project over to the client in time for their new University term; thanks to our dedicated delivery team, benchmark management procedures and specialist supply-chain.
